Medina County EMA

The Medina County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (EMA) offers several volunteer opportunities for Radio Amateurs and non-Hams alike.  

If you want to volunteer with the EMA, you must:

  • Submit an application to the Medina County EMA
  • Undergo a background check (free) conducted by the Sheriff’s Office
  • Complete final acceptance documentation
  • Swear an oath

Volunteer opportunities exist in:

  • Communications Unit
  • RACES
  • CERT

Note that to volunteer for the EMA Communications Unit or RACES, you must be a licensed Amateur and fulfill the ARES Level 2 coursework.
