The Medina County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (EMA) offers several volunteer opportunities for Radio Amateurs and non-Hams alike.
If you want to volunteer with the EMA, you must:
- Submit an application to the Medina County EMA
- Undergo a background check (free) conducted by the Sheriff’s Office
- Complete final acceptance documentation
- Swear an oath

Note that to volunteer for the EMA Communications Unit or RACES, you must be a licensed Amateur and fulfill the ARES Level 2 coursework.
