Medina County EMA Communications Unit

The EMA Communications Unit consists of dedicated volunteers who provide communications capabilities, support, & coordination to EMA, public safety & other organizations. These volunteers work under the direct authority of EMA.

To serve on the Medina County EMA Communications Unit you must meet the
ARES Level 2 requirement.  This means that you have completed all of the four basic FEMA Emergency Management Institute (EMI), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS) courses (IS-100, 200, 700 & 800), and you are competent operating within the Incident Command Structure. It also means that you will be eligible to sign up for the Ohio Responds, the state liability insurance.

The Director of the Communications Unit is Dave Rickon NF8O, and the Deputy Director is BoB Mueller K8MD.
